Technology
Games2teach differs from other teaching sites and teaching books by giving the educator the tools to create a different game with the click of the mouse. Most other sites and teaching books contain educational games that can be photocopied or printed, but the game will always contain the same content. Using modern technology, Games2teach breaks that mold and lets the educator explore other teaching methods.
Questions
The ideology of Games2teach is to fill a game with questions (and perhaps answers) and for the teacher to use that game in class to help teach the material. Games2teach offers pre-made questions (called Question Sets) in different categories, but offers (and encourages) the teacher to make his/her own Question Sets. In addition, there is a feature that allows the Question Set's creator to import questions from other Question Sets. Using this feature, a unique Question Set can be made in minutes, material can be reused, and teachers of the same school can collaborate. Teachers are experts in their subjects. Knowing this, we have incorporated a feature into the site that everyone can gain from. When a Question Set is created, its creator can make it "Public". Once a set has been marked as Public, others can use that question set! Subscribers of games2teach will have many teachers as their resource.
Unique
In addition to many standard games, Games2teach has created some unique twists to the originals. For example, the game “Word Search Jumbled” gives the player a clue as to what to search for, but the word is mixed up in the grid. Many games are made specifically for the teacher to interact with the students. For example, the game “Match Up Fill In” is a simple match up game, but the answers don’t come until the teacher announces them (giving time to teach the material).
Economical
Currently a subscription to Games2teach costs $14.95 per month or $95.00 for the year (12 months). Many schools spend more on a substitute teacher for one day. Subscriptions are priced low so all schools can benefit and share with others.
